Born in Baghdad, he immigrated with his family to Israel at the age of 8. He is a Professor, acclaimed lecturer, author, and part-time photographer. For the past decade, Gideon gets up at 06:00 and walks along  the beaches of Tel Aviv, creating a rich visual tapestry of  the urban sea. This is a taste of his unique visual journey. 

Over the years, Gideon served as the Chairman of BATM, Chairman of Delta Galil Industries, as Director of the Melisron Shopping malls, Paz Oil Company, Teva Israel Pharmaceutical Industries, Bank Hapoalim and Israel Aircraft Industries, and many more. He provided consultancy services in business strategy to the boards and alongside the CEO’s of Israel’s leading companies. He  also served as Adjunct Professor at Tel Aviv University, Recanati Business School. Dr. Chitayat holds a Ph.D. in Business & Applied Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School and a Master’s in Business & Applied Economics from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. 

He is married to Ilana, the love of his life for over 58 years and has 4 children and 11 grandchildren.
